The Forensic Linguistics Institute

Refund Policy

The Institute shall be construed as the Forensic Linguistics Institute and the Client shall be construed as the person entering into a commercial relationship with the Institute.

COURSES
The Institute operates a 100% refund policy for single course module purchases, and a pro rata refund policy for course modules bought together. That is to say if you purchase a single module and find it not to your satisfaction or purpose, you are welcome to apply for a refund within 7 days of purchase. This 7 day period gives you the opportunity to evaluate the suitability of the course for your needs. If you purchase a group of modules and you apply for a refund, it shall be presumed after 7 days that all of the modules, excluding the last, were fit for your purpose, and in this case only the last module shall be refundable. This is because our course material is of a highly confidential nature, in use by members of the legal and law enforcement professions worldwide, and we aim to restrict its unnecessary circulation beyond the group of students and lecturers who need to use it for the purpose of carrying out their studies and/or assisting others. Note that in the event an individual has circulated any material to others without the prior consent of the Institute, either directly or indirectly, electronically, by mail or through any other means, then that individual will automatically forfeit all rights to a refund, and may actually become liable for the cost of the material to such individuals, on the basis of an estimate of the number of people who may have received that material.

In the event of illness, demise, employment redundancy or retirement through ill health, the refund period for the appropriate modules shall be extended to 14 days, providing that the above condition has been met.

SOFTWARE
It shall be presumed that the client will have downloaded free demonstration copies (all of which are fully functional) of any Forensic Linguistics Instititute software in which he/she may be interested, for the purposes of evaluation. Once the software has been purchased, in common with other software developers, no refund will be possible unless it can be demonstrated that there is a significant loss of performance from the demonstration software to the purchased software.
